Where can I park?

Parking can be found in the Pedernales Electric Co-op parking lots (201 S. Ave. F), LBJ High School (505 N. Nugent Ave.), around the courthouse square, and in parking spaces streetside on those streets surrounding the courthouse, and on Main St. (US Hwy 290).

Where are the restrooms?

Memorial Park has restrooms and port-o-potties will be available for use. Be aware that most businesses do not have public restrooms and that restaurants will only allow patrons who are dining in their facility to use their restrooms.

Where can I eat?

Johnson City has several restaurants. Several are within walking distance of the courthouse and the others are just a short drive away. Click here for more information on where to dine.

When can I visit Santa Claus?

Santa will make his arrival at the Parade on Saturday, November 27, 2021. He and Mrs Claus will be set up in the Gazebo at Memorial Park for photo opportunities and chats in a "Social Distanced" way. We will provide a bench for the kiddos to sit on and visit and then they can stand next to Santa for photos. He will also be back to visit on 12/3 & 12/4, 12/10 & 12/11 and 12//17 & 12/18. We will also have a Mail Box set for those who can't attend when he is there and the elves will see that Santa gets those letters in plenty of time.

When will the Grinch be in town?

"Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more." The Grinch The Grinch plans to be here for an appearance and photo opportunites on December 18th around 7:00 pm.

Where do I go to catch the hayrides or carriage rides?

Hayrides provided by the Antique Tracor Club of JC will be available for donation only - no tickets to purchase. They load up across from PEC Headquarters in the evenings. Carriage rides will begin in front of Johnson City Bank. There are several sizes and styles of carriages both 2 and 4 person. Check with on pricing.

What are the dates for Lights Spectacular?

Lights Spectacular begins with the "Flip" of the Switch and Fireworks on Friday, November 26, 2021. Our town stays twinkly until January 2, 2022.

When are events scheduled and when can I see the lights?

Please see our EVENTS page for more information. The lights can be viewed every night of the week until midnight.

How do I enter the Lighted Hooves and Wheels Parade?

Please check the parade page for the link to the application. There is no cost to enter. Just be sure to Light It Up.

On what date is the Lighted Hooves and Wheels Parade, at what time does the parade start, and where should I stand to watch?

The parade will be on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at around 6:30. The parade will begin with a performance by the Clittity Cloggers at 5:30. Come see a real "Small Town Texas" parade!

Yes. You can donate by clicking on the "donate" button located at the bottom of each page of the website. Also, donation buckets will be located in several areas throughout Johnson City. Who can participate in the residential and business lighting contest, what are the rules, and how do I sign up?

See Events page for an application. The contest is open to all persons within ½ mile of the city limits of Johnson City. Recognition will be given for the best decorated residences and commercial buildings. Entry forms should be turned in no later than December 14, 2021.
