SANTA LETTER EXPRESS:
There will be a large red lighted box under the gazebo in Memorial Park. It will be accepting letters to the North Pole for all those kids the will not be able to visit Santa face to face this year. If a return address is included on the letter, the elves will make sure to send back a certificate from the North Pole validating that the letter has been received! The Santa Letter Express will accept letters through Sunday, December 20th.
PEC's LIGHT DISPLAY:
The Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) will illuminate its Johnson City Headquarters in 2020. More than 1.3 million LED bulbs will light up PEC’s campus during the holidays. The lights will turn on Friday, Nov. 27, at 6 p.m., and will shine from 6 p.m. to Midnight every night through Sunday, Jan. 3. Any visitors are encouraged to enjoy the lights from the safety of their vehicle. Otherwise, visitors will be asked to abide by any COVID-19 orders issued by local and state authorities. Orders may include requirements as to the numbers of people gathering, social distancing and face coverings. In-person visits to the lights at PEC Headquarters are at the visitor’s own risk. Due to COVID-19 concerns, PEC will not conduct its annual holiday lights photo contest this year.
Friday, Nov. 27 - Lighting of the Blanco County Courthouse and Memorial Park in Johnson City. The Memorial Park display is dedicated to the healthcare professionals on the front lines of the pandemic.
Friday & Sunday - December 4 & 6 - The Blanco County Community Choir will continue the tradition of presenting Christmas concerts for the community in both Johnson City and Blanco. Both concerts will be shorter than usual and presented outdoors. In Johnson City on Friday, December 4 at 6:00, the choir will sing on the south steps of the Blanco County Courthouse. Audience members can drive up and listen from their cars or bring their own chairs. On Sunday, December 6 at 6:00, the choir will sing in the Uptown Blanco Courtyard. There will be limited seating. To reserve a seat, please call Tanya at 833-1579 ext. 0. Masks will be required at all times, social distancing observed, and temperature will be checked at the door. There is no charge for either of these concerts.
